Fitness Through Motion was founded by performance coach and national-level athlete Donald Thomson to raise the standard of athletic development on the Sunshine Coast and beyond.

Based deeply within scientific training principles and real-world coaching application, FTM is built for athletes, coaches, and organisations seeking structure, clarity, and long-term performance. Donald’s coaching philosophy blends formal qualifications in Strength & Conditioning and Fitness with lived experience in sprint kayaking, surf lifesaving, and field-based strength systems.

As the author of The Complete Guide to Physiological Adaptation and Human Performance, he brings a rare combination of depth, discipline, and practicality to each client interaction. FTM provides in-person and remote coaching, performance testing, athlete programming, and coach mentorship — all backed by systems designed to reduce injury, optimise recovery, and drive competitive outcomes.
